I also have trouble booting from FD when the HD is on. ALT/SHIFT/CONTROL reliably caused FD boot until I installed TOS 1.4; then it quit entirely. -- vsnyder@jato.Jpl.Nasa.Gov ames!elroy!jato!vsnyder vsnyder@jato.uucp

I find that Ctrl/Shift/Alt will not stop an HD boot unless I wait until the floppy (drive A) light has come on. If I then press Ctrl/Shift/Alt (within about .5 sec) my STe boots from floppy. Red/.

When booting with TOS 1.4, if you wish to boot from floppy you should wait until the floppy light comes on the _second_ time before pressing ALT+SHIFT+ CONTROL. That is, the floppy light will come on (briefly, if a formatted floppy is inserted), go out, then come back on. Don't press ALT+SHIFT+CONTROL until the second time the light comes on.
