Does anyone know what the .z extension stands for on terminators
sound files??? Which archiver is it???

  It's a system compression called "compress".  It SHOULD be on the
system you use to post news through.  If you are on a UNIX based machine
then by doing a 'man compress' (no quotes) should get you all the info.

    BTW: use uncompress to get them out of compression :-)
