(to be skipped by more-than-average-programmers) THE COOKIE JAR The cookie jar is a kind of environment that has been implemented in TOS starting at 1.6. It contains pairs of longwords, one of which is the cookie identifier (to be read out in decimal ASCII), the other any kind of data related to the identifier. IT'S A MISUNDERSTANDING people with low TOSes should not be interested in the jar. It's in fact very easy to install a cookie jar in old TOSes. If desired, I could write (and post) a short auto folder executable that installs a cookie jar, and remains active till the next COLD boot (installing the system cookies at every warm boot). And now for something completely different: I REQUEST ANYBODY WHO HAS EVER DEFINED ONE or MORE COOKIES TO SEND THEM TO ME, for at least I think there's great need of some document containing the definition of as much cookies as possible. This would very much increase the use of the cookie jar. Please send short messages containing simple, clear and understandable information about your cookies. When I think I've collected enough, I will post the first version of my cookie definition list. I'll also add (after a scientific examination) a chapter on cookie psychology (in which I'm also VERY interested) Annius Groenink -- +--------------------------+ Annius Groenink | AVGROENI@CS.RUU.NL | De Mamuchetweg 5 +--------------------------+ 3732 AK De Bilt The Netherlands -- Annius Groenink|undergraduate student De Mamuchetweg 5|maths/computer science at the 3732 AK De Bilt|University of Utrecht, Holland.
