[comp.sys.atari.st] Somewhat broken ST and JRI SIMM board for sale

yegerleh@vivaldi.ecn.purdue.edu (James D Yegerlehner) (03/01/91)

Dear Netters,

I have an old Atari 520ST (TOS 1.0, RF Modulator) with mouse,
a SS drive, power supply etc., NO Monitor, with a JRI
SIMM board installed (with 1 Meg installed) for sale. The problem is,
it's broken: when no disk drives are attached, it boots up just
fine, but displays no disk icons, of course. If either
a hard drive and/or a floppy is plugged in, the screen goes blank
at rebooting, as it is supposed to, but then stays blank
forever.

Caveat: I took it to a service place, where they tried swapping
out one of the suspicious custom Atari chips, and that didn't
fix it. So it looks to me like a broken trace or solder point somewhere,
but that's just a guess.

The JRI SIMM board has always worked fine.
I had it installed by Berkeley Microsystems.
Unfortunately I do not have the JRI installation
instructions anymore, but I do have the original disk that came
with it.

I'll start the bidding at $150, but feel free to make an offer!

Jim
