I have several wierd questions:
1. My 1040STf has a Rev. B board #C07078 -001 with the 6 ROM set (TOS 1.0)
I recently opened it up (the warranty expired years ago) and have some
questions about it :
a. What are A16 and A17 near the ROM's and CE (I think) next to U56 ?
They are each two solder bridges of some sort the the letters
256k and 1M above or below them. The 256k bridge has solder in it
completing the circuit while the 1M bridges are clear. Any ideas ?
b. What are U65 and U68 ? Do they have anything to do with U65 (which
I assume (from its shape/size) is where the blitter is supposed
to go.
c. Does anybody sell the blitter (and a socket for it) ? And what else
would I have to do to get it to work ??
2. I got PC Ditto II a long time ago (as an update to PC Ditto) and it is
cracked straight across its' width.
a. Is there any way to fix it ? I could solder it but is there a better
way ?
b. There "seems" to be an NEC V30 chip on the PC Ditto board. If I can't
fix it what do I do with it (it's socketed) ?
c. (Best question yet.:-) ..) Does anybody remember the clip you're
supposed to fit over the 68000 ? Is there any other use for it ? (I'm
dreaming of using it to simulate a MegaBus so I can get David Small
& Co.'s 68030 board instead of waiting for the TT to become obsolete
before I get it.
