A lot of spectrum 512 images were recently uploaded to atari.archive. Unfortunately, a lot of those seem to be corrupt. While you don't get much in the way of compression, I'd suggest that future uploads be arc'd some way or another, just to get the CRC check on the data. (You can use the (s)tore option in ARC to store a file without compressing it, if you don't want to wait for the compression algorithms...) Or we can adopt the crc program that is used to check Minix source code postings and such, since that's really all I'm asking for. Then when you upload any non-arc'd files, you can send the CRC values along with their names in your notification messages. -- -- Howard Chu @ University of Michigan Flame all you want - we'll take more.
