Man, has this subject wreaked some havoc.. Let me clarify a few points, since it is evident that AMiga readers are pretty upset about the articles i posted. Regarding the Video Toaster marriage to the ATari TT: 1). I have heard that a 3rd party is considering the marriage. ** I have never spoken with NewTek nor with ATARI.. ... all i have heard is that a 3rd party is interested and perhaps working on the marriage to be furbished this year. SO please understand that I have never made mention that ATARI is involved with the Toaster. Atari may indeed be, but i have absolutely NO knowledge of this. 2). ANy third party may in fact take an existing Video Toaster off the shelf and try to make it work on a TT. This is what I understand to be happening. kevin ramsiri@blake.acs.washington.edu

Wow... Where did all that additional information come from if YOU didn't furnish it? It sounds like some TT+Toaster hopefulls got a bit too excited and fabricated rumor extensions (framed as facts) and got themselves more than a bit confused about your original post. Of course putting a Toaster on ANY computer is POSSIBLE, but would almost certainly cost much more than a brand-new Amiga, not to mention that almost ALL of the software that supports Toaster would have to be re-written.... BTW, my gramdma is working on putting a Toaster in her Kenmore vacuum cleaner... rumor has it that she is in contact with NewTek about the project... -Mike-
