Fellow Atarians, I have a hard drive question. I know that it is possible to use SCSI and RLL drives on the atari with the proper controller/adapter, but I would like to know if it is possible to use MFM drives. I don't know much about hard drives at all. I haven't seen any postings about this, so I don't care if replies are mailed to me or posted. If I get any mail response, I'll post a summary. Thanks to any who reply. Steve Greer -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steven J. It isn't any more difficult to hook up a MFM hard drive than an RLL. All you have to do is get the appropriate SCSI to MFM or RLL disk controller board. Adaptec makes both types. I don't remember the numbers though. Sorry. Terry Disclaimer: The above are my opinions and mine alone. SLAC, Stanford University, and the DOE could not care less about what I think.

I have this setup on my ST: ST DMA Port -> ICD Host Adaptor -> Adaptec 5500 -> MFM driver Works very well. -Bob
