Recently I wanted to use my TurboC compiler (version 1.0) again and it didn't work. The linker gave the message 'FORMAT ERROR IN TCSTART.O' and I couldn't load the help file. First I thought it had something to do with my upgrade to TOS1.4, but I had the same problem on a ST with TOS1.2 When I booted the computer without any desk accessory it worked fine. It appeared that the Star-struck screensaver was the DA that gave the problems. After I removed it TurboC worked fine. I tried Star-struck and TurboC on a 1040 with 1 Meg and on my 260 with 2 Meg and on both computers I had the same problem. Why can't Star-struck and TurboC work together? Does Star-struck do something illegal? And why does it only cause problems with the linker and the help function? I just recently found that when I load Star Struck as a desk accessory, I can't run the "construction set" utility of Super Boot. -- Mike
