In the Spectre 3.0 manual Dave Small mentions a product called Async LaserWriter, which allows a Mac to print PostScript files to a PostScript printer hooked up via the serial port. Does anyone know who makes it, or how much it costs? Thanks. Gerry ggreenbe@rodan.acs.syr.edu

Async LaserWriter is not a specific make of a printer, it is a general type, like there are matrix and inkjets and so on. Async here means asynchronous. A good and affordable example here is the laser from OKI. It is small and quite good in many other ways too. If you want to use a laser with Spectre and generally with ST, there is a vey good HP LaserJet emulation software (an INIT) for using SLM 804 under Spectre. It works perfectly well. This can be purchased from Fearn & Music, Germany. They sell lots of good Mac & Spetre stuff. If you want their address and numbers, just leave me a message.
