[comp.sys.atari.st] Sozobon C users ... read this

L.B.Brown@newcastle.ac.uk (L.B. Brown) (03/08/91)

I have just uploaded two files to atari.archive:

	newsozo1.zoo,newdlibs.arc

newsozo1.zoo contains the same files as sozobon.zoo (in the languages
directory) but the binaries have been recompiled using a fixed dlibs.a
which, with the source of the fixed .o files, is contained in newdlibs.arc.
(You only need that if you want a complete source for dlibs).

You'll want to know the improvements I suppose:

o All programs compiled under and including the compiler do not crash
when spawned from gemini/mupfel or monitors such as monst.

o The optimizer has been fixed (again!). This time every bit of C source
I have compiles with the -O option, including microemacs 3.10.

o All published mods to dlibs.a have been performed.

More detailed information on the changes can be found in the readme files
in the respective files.

It really is worth uploading this if you use sozobon.

We're working on the next official release of Sozobon C and hope
to release it in the near future. We really appreciate all the work
that people like Leigh have put into the compiler. We don't have
access to all the hardware/software combinations that people are
using, so fixes like these are a tremendous help.

We'd like to incorporate all the fixes and improvements that people
have made, as well as some of our own (long identifiers, for one).
If you've made bug fixes or added features, please send them to me
via email or disk. We've had trouble reaching some of the archive
servers, so please send us your fixes even if they are available
on a server somewhere.

If you send your changes by disk, send it to:

I can't promise a response to each message, but we'll do our best to
incorporate your changes in the release. Thanks again for your work!
