I'm posting this for Terry Wells, who doesn't have net access. Please reply to him, NOT me. Thanks, weiner I have the Power Drive 1.4M floppy enhancement for my Mega 2. It is my experience that there is some incompatibility when transferring files to/from a PC (MS-DOS 4.0). I know that it isn't Dream Park's fault as they didn't actually write any driver software except for a step rate changer. (And yes, it does set different step rates for different drives (A/B). But it appears to install itself differently for different TOS versions as it displays an "Installed for TOS 1.2" message on my machine.) The problem occurs when I format the disk on the ST or the PC. The first 720K of the disk works fine. If I fill the disk past 720K on the PC, the ST cannot read any of the files that have sectors past the 720K point. The sectors themselves aren't bad but Cleanup ST by ICD says that the FAT contains invalid entries. I haven't tried to fill a disk on the ST and then read it on the PC, but I expect that a similar problem will occur. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I expect that it has to do with dissimilarities between the way MS-DOS and TOS handle the FAT for large (above 1M) disks. For now, all I can do is to use only 720K formatted disks, but this is a pain. I bought the 1.4M upgrade almost specifically to do 1.4M floppy transfers from the PC. Can anyone help?
