Last night I just finished a trivial but fun hack on my Mega 4. I wrote a small program which listens for a PostScript file over the serial port and, upon receiving it, sends the file to UltraScript for printing on the SLM804. The Apple LaserWriter driver can be modified to send PostScript code directly over the Modem Port. The end result? My ST can act as a big printer spooler for the Mac, and it works great! If anyone out there has a similar setup (A Mac and an Atari w/SLM804) and would like to try this as well, I'd be happy to send you the stuff. I'm calling this version Version 0.1 and when I make improvements on it I'll release it as shareware (If there is enough interest). Ron D. dinapoli@rodan.acs.syr.edu
