[comp.sys.atari.st] Monitors

scyst@unix.cis.pitt.edu (Shou C. Yang) (10/17/89)

Earlier someone posted something about using a multisync or a commercial
TV/Monitor for Atari's all three display modes, instead of having a color
monitor and a monochrome together. Can someone give me more information?

1. Which brands and models?

2. How easy to make it work? (like extra cables, modifications etc)

3. What is the cost as compared to having a color/monochrome set?

4. What's the resolution? Is it comparable to that on a monochrome?

Please send email if possible. Thank you.

I hate to waste net space this way, but does anyone else get as tired as I do
reading BobR's negativistic comments? There are a few righteous points, but
I've read them all at least a dozen times........

Guess it must be hard to find NEW complaints all of the time about
a company as good as Atari. Thus, they have to rely on old, outdated
arguments with vague references to past follies :)

I was wondering if the Multi-Scan monitors are same as multisync.
Because there is a local store here with multi-scan SVGA monitors
1024x768 .28mm for only $380.00, It is a Samsung monitor. I have also
seen Panasync 1391 monitors as low as $329.00 WOW. This is not a miss
type price since I thought it was, but it's not.
The computer prices around Denver Colorado has been very low, I guess
it is due to the low sales, 486 systems are as low as 1800.00 here.
Can someone please tell me what the 486 systems and TT are going for
elsewhere?
I been deciding on getting a TT system, but since the prices are falling
around here, perhaps I should wait. I already have 486 system, but still
like to have a TT.

					Thanks,
					Jeff

MultiSync is a trademark of NEC. Multi-scanning is the generic term.
