|YO! I am looking for any information on Monitor UpGrades for the ST.
|
|If you have heard about it, used it, are selling one, or know the
|prices and where to get one please leave me amessage. I have heard of
|something called the Izack Board 1000*760 in color, I have also heard
|About Moniterm. My goal is to reduce the number of monitors I use, so
|the Moniterm is a great Idea, but still another extra, not a
|replacement. The Izack board sounds great, but I don't know what
|software utilizes 1000*760 in 16color low Res.
|
|If there are any other options out there I am VERY interested in
|hearing about them. The quest for the ultimate ST monitor system
|continues. If I gather enough information, Ill post any thing
|interesting. If you are interested in selling something, please leave
|me a description of the Item, What it does, and how much you are
|asking.
|
|send mail to.... neonman@ecst.csuchico.edu

	Hi Justin,
About buying an ISAC/ST video board. It is an excellent board
for Mega ST users. It offers Moniterm compatibility (both boards were designed
by the same person) and is alot more compatible with ST software in general
than the Moniterm. The ISAC has a resolution of 1024 x 768 in both color and
monochrome modes; with a palette of 4096 in color mode, and 2 colors in
"DuoChrome" mode (DuoChrome allow you to choose which two color you prefer in
the monochrome mode).
I have seen the ISAC used with several different multisync-type
monitors, they all looked great (especially the 16" NEC 4D!). If there is not
an ISAC dealer in your area, check with American MicroTech in Modesto.
Bye.............

In article <1991Apr19.012132.636@abode.wciu.edu>, scale@abode.wciu.edu (Luis

Is that 4096 colors on the screen at one time, or is 4096 the numbers of colors
that one gets to choose a subset of, like 16 out of 512. Also, how much does
this baby cost? I might consider getting one some day, and a rough price would
tell me how long I have to wait. Thanks.

The ISAC has 16 onscreen colours out of 4096, and it costs around $750.

P.S. Supposedly LEXICOR has a 24 bit board coming out soon for the ST,
that should be very cheap. Aroung the same as the ISAC. Wait and see, I
say. (since it is not out yet, that is all one can do)

scale@abode.wciu.edu (Luis Outumuro) (04/24/91)

	Hi Terry,
Correct, the ISAC will display 16 colors from a palette of
4096. The ISAC board costs the same as the Moniterm board; $800 MSRP, but
actual street pricing is around $600 to $650. It has been available for
quite a while now. I believe Jay Craswell (designer/programmer of the ISAC)
recently updated the drivers with a new version. The Calamus Series, DynaCADD,
PageStream and several other applications have specific support for the ISAC.
So does CodeHead's HotWire and MaxiFile (awesome piece of coding!) 3.0's, and
thier shareware utilities. Bye...................
