[comp.sys.atari.st] TT030 and Mac Emulation...

sander@engin.umich.edu (Scott D Anderson) (05/01/91)

Yes, due to some timely advice and comparison's sent to me (thank you all
who replied) I have decided that the corporation shall buy a TT030.

A few questions: How does one go about Mac emulation? Someone had mentioned
that this was an available product (unfortunately i deleted the msg. :( ).
I cannot remember the acronym. Is the product a board, a program, or both?
Price? Compatibility with all Mac programs? Would I for instance br able to
write a memo on the TT using MS-Word or some Mac program, then take the disk it
was saved on to a Mac somewhere to use the Laser Writer?

I have just started reading these newsgroups in the past week or so, so a few
uneducated questions: UNIX on an Atari? how does this work, and is it a
viable thing to do? I have used UNIX extensively, and would like it on the
Atari...

Desk Accessories: How do these work, where can I get them, and so forth...

I also need info on telecommunications: terminal emulators with Kermit or
some likewise transfer protocol. I would appreciate some comparison's if
someone has the info handy...

I would also appreciate any comments that can be made on what people consider
to be the most useful additions to their Atari's. The applications that would
especially interest me are a) MIDI all and sundry, b) C programming
c) graphics programming (virtual reality, photo-quality picture
generation, etc)

Please keep in mind that this is a small company we are talking about here;
no $800 software can be afforded :) but some reasonable stuff can...

Please email replies, unless you feel the info would be useful to someone other
than myself as well...

Thanks in advance,

Scott Anderson...
