Can anyone recommend a good editor to run under MiNT with MGR? I'm currently using JOVE, but it doesn't read /etc/termcap. Does GNU EMACS? (Memory is not a problem.) It should preferably be an Emacs clone. Also, does anyone know of a RAM disk on which you can run minit to make a Minix disk? I am using a cutsom R.D., but running minit on it leaves only about 8% of the disk free! I'm currently using Mg2a under MiNT (very occaisionally) and its seems to be okay. However i'll definately try compiling GNUemacs18.55 on it what I get passed my exams and get disk space (and other standard excuses!). I'll also get up to date on the MiNT code. What version do you use? I'm flailing along with 06s (i've got code for 08b but not enough memory to compile it using gcc (had to give the big memory machine back!). I've heard that it shouldn't be too difficult to build the GNU stuff on MiNT once a small environment (gnumake/gcc) is set up. ...Les... "Struggling thru the exam zone"

Hi. I've just been fiddling with gnuemacs and mint08 myself.
What I basically did, was :
1 grab the source from atari.archive
2 remove most of the #ifdef atarist
(to get multiprocessing and so forth.)
3 compile
It seems to work allright, I can run compile.el, and it starts a compilation in the background,
just nicely. I can fork shell commands, I can suspend emacs, it's all there except one thing :
I haven't been able to "dumpfix" xemacs, (Make a final dumped emacs) so I have to use
temacs -l loadup.el, whitch is no big deal if you have a TT, but on an ST....
