[comp.sys.atari.st] GFA Raytrace

MV010320@NDSUVM1.BITNET (04/30/91)

Being a starting GFA Basic programmer I'd like to know just what the
GFA Raytrace package is and what it has to offer as a programming tool.
I have GFA Basic 3.5 with compiler and am so far satisfied with that but
would like to know what else is out there.

                                          Thanks,

                                          Thomas

Hello everybody, I just would like to answer to Thomas
about Gfa Raytrace Package. I don`t know all the tools in this Pack
but if you are a beginner I don`t think that Gfa Raytrace could bring
you a lot of very interesting things. Let me explain why: At first
Gfa Raytrace is really specific. You know that this software uses the
Raytrace technic to show pictures. Of course the result is very nice
but the calculation is very slow (1-5 Hrs sometimes...or sometimes
all the night). Moreover Gfa Raytrace uses a lot of colors and it`s
difficult to use this process in GFA. But if you want to use the
Gfa Raytrace pictures try to find a converter from GFA Raytrace to
Spectrum (It`s exist!) and then you can use a Spectrum 512 routine
to show your pictures. If you can`t find a routine try to find
a executable binary file which load the pictures. (And if you want
make a DEMO for instance you can use the instruction EXEC or PEXEC 0
to exec the binary file... look in your Gfa basic manual).

Well, what I can say now? I could maybe introduce
myself... I`m called Samuel Grosdemange and it`s the first time
I use USENET NEWS .More other I`m French and I`m 19 (So, I beg
your pardon for the mistakes... thanks in advance). I begin to
code in Assembler 68000 some DEMOS and we have made a crew in
France (in Epinal near Nancy near Strasbourg). The name of our
crew is Passion and if you want to contact us (It`s a call to all
coders and ST users all other the world) write to the following
adress:

Now , Thomas I hope you could receive a few letters
explaining you what Gfa Raytrace offer as a programming tool.
Good Luck with yous Atari ST and write me.Good Bye!

		Sam,
