[comp.sys.atari.st] I knew it!

I knew it! I knew it! STart is going down, just as I sensed might
happen. Seems interesting that ST-Log and Analog started this trend of
"switch to lower distribution ratios, then shut down after the next
issue." Actually, I can't say I'll miss STart. The magazine is nothing
short of boring except for the few bits of news in it. The programs are
next to worthless, and overall, the only magazine I thought was the
ultimate of ultimates, was Compute!'s Atari ST disk & Magazine.

I don't meant to rip asunder, but I felt the urge to comment on this
issue. The only thing I'll really miss about STart, is that I won't be
able to thumb through it every month before putting it back on the shelf
and leaving the bookstore.

Now, if you want QUALITY material, I recommend Atari Explorer (even if it
IS owned and run by Atari, so we'll probably never get truely OBJECTIVE
reports on anything except Atari parts and peripherals), AtariUser, ST
Informer, and perhaps another that may exist out there... Ciao!

_Current Notes_. Easily the best Atari mag the entire time it's been in
publication. Check it out.

Absolutely correct. The only things that have kept my ST ownership from being
an expensive mistake are: Atari.archive, c.s.a.st, and Current Notes. The
first two are free, the last costs $27 a year. For those interested in
CN, the address is:

    CN Subscriptions
    122 N. Johnson Rd
    Sterling, VA 22170
    Phone: (703)450-4761

At least get a sample issue. You WILL like it!

I am in no way connected with CN blah blah except as an owner of all their
back issues.
