Hi, Well on the network a while back I put out a plea for information on soundtrackers for the ST.And I thought I would post my conclusions.. So far I have the following soundtrackers,if you know of any more then please let me know... TCB soundtracker demo - quite good but only demo, advanced features missing like MIDI. ESION I tracker - pretty good, comes in two forms, one for the ST and one for the STe,sound is very good compared too some, has some nice features. Noisetracker - By Dr.Satan V1.5 , very good soundtracker for ST,no STe support as yet.Looks and feels like an Amiga noisetracker, some features missing Still no MIDI support... Supports external sound cartridges like STReplay,ProSound and the MV16 cartridge given away with B.A.T.,nice feature. Digicomposer - Improved version of the previous, with STe support and Stereo support for St's with external cartrigdes.extra features very nice For me this is the best of the lot,but does have some bugs, like not treating drive B correctly and sound glitchs when changing params of output device. NOTE:- this are in the order of WORST to BEST in MY opinion and only my opinion. but unfortunately none of them seem to support MIDI at all,and most die when my MIDI keyboard is powered up???? DO any support MIDI as an Input device?? any way just thought you'd like to know.... Alan Messer.

DO any support MIDI as an Input device?? > Digicomposer seems to have the worst sound of any of the Noisetracker players whereas Esion I has some of the best sound. Digicomposer on the other hand has more graphic bells and whistles, which I like, than Esion. Oh, lemme add than Digicomposer seems to have the worst sound on an STe, at least mine. :^) I'm not sure about ST. -- ||| Ed Krimen [ekrimen@ecst.csuchico.edu or al661@cleveland.freenet.edu] ||| Video Production Major, California State University, Chico / | \ SysOp, Fuji BBS: 916-894-1261 ONE WEEK UNTIL GRADUATION!!

Sound Quality is no problem, try to upload the program NT_COMP from atari. archive. This program can compile the modules to VERY high quality compressed samples. The Program can also play them on both st,ste and tt.
