[comp.sys.atari.st] RS-232 Port READ/WRITE status

n160ao@tamuts.tamu.edu (Mark Lehmann) (05/25/91)

RS-232 Status
-------------
If you know how to read RS-232 status, specifically the Carrier Detect
signal, please tell me how you did it with LaserC.

Standard RS-232 read/write calls
--------------------------------
Also, does any way to use the "fwrite" or "fprintf" commands to send
information to the serial port exist? I know how to use Bconout and Cconout,
but I really want to be able to use some standard C routines that I could
port to different computers.

Curses
------
Did anyone find a curses subroutine library for C on the Atari ST?
I am looking for some type of terminfo or termcap.

Goal
----
BBS users might be familiar with a USA and Canada wide Atari ST network
called "Link" or "Squidmail". I am trying to rewrite the "Squidmail"
and "Slugnet" rountines in C for easy portability. If you can help,.
please do, otherwise press "k" so that I won't bother you will this
concern anymore.

Thanks.

I am also interested if anyone found curses routines.

There are two curses packages at atari.archive: one is a GNU version.
