Recent Contributions...............................................RECENT!. Volunteer Job Listing..............................................JOBS!. Contributing Information...........................................CONTRIBUTE!. - LEADERS! - Team Leaders' Thoughts ---------------------- Welcome Team Members! This first issue will be distributed publicly so that others will know exactly what this is all about. The following issues will be distributed e-mail to members only - that is the privilege you get for being a member! If you haven't received or filled out a questionnaire, please let us know so that we can get one to you. This tells the team leaders about you so they can decide how you can be helping the Support Team. Each of you that have filled out a questionnaire will notice that you have been listed to do specific volunteer jobs for the team. The jobs that you were given was a result of the team leaders looking over the questionnaire that you filled out and figuring out what you you could do best for the team. If we were mistaken and gave you a job that you cannot do, or if you feel you can do many other things besides the things that were listed for the support team, please inform us by the Atari SIG address located on the cover page of this newsletter. A question that will soon arise is how often will a team member have to contribute? This all depends on the job that you have agreed to have. If you contribute online magazines, you should do it every week- that is unless you have worked out an agreement with someone else to take some of the burden. If you agreed to search through online magazines, Usenet, and BBS', you should do it when you read these information sources and just capture any news or information that seems important to you as you go along. If you decide to review products as a support team member, you should do it as often as you can- even monthly if possible. And if that isn't specific enough- just do it as often as you can and as best as you can. There are a few things that you should remember. The reason for the assigning of jobs, etc. is so that we can have a real great information source covering every area. Everyone will know exactly what to do so they will be able to contribute without trying to guess what needs to done. In the first announcement of the "16/32-bit Support Team", it was said that this team works by everyone doing their part in order to get the most. If everyone does their job, they will be able to get a lot of information. Just imagine- one person contributing tips and tricks, a few people contribute reviews, another person contributes online magazines, and yet another contributes Usenet information. You get all of these just because you contribute BBS news or any other job that you have chosen. Meanwhile, the person contributing online magazines that you are reading is getting everything you are but also the information you are contributing. It is a good system and it works! The amount of information you receive is determined by the amount of support members so tell your friends to join! This Support Team is very unique since the only requirements to join is that you have commitment to the team (meaning that once you say you will do a job, you will do it) and you have at least an e-mail box address that is on Free-Net or can receive e-mail through Internet. If you have an e-mail box on Compuserve, you can also join the Support Team without even having to access the Cleveland Free-Net Computer system. If you have Cleveland Free-Net access, you'll be able to obtain any of this information anytime that you wish. You will also be the first to know about it. But if you don't have access to the Cleveland Free-Net, do not frat! You can always request a contribution listed in this newsletter from the Atari SIG on the Cleveland Free-Net. The Atari SIG will make sure you are a team member and then send you the contribution through e-mail to your mail box. Spread the word around about the 16/32-bit Support Team! Get your user group involved! And DEFINITELY contact us by the addresses above if you have any questions about any of this. Thanks. Marc Lombardo, Len Stys Atari 16/32-bit Support Team Leaders - HIGHLIGHTS! - The Highlights of Contributions ------------------------------- The main highlights for this newsletter is the Atari Computer Files area completion. Even though we are not allowed to have files on-line, we have come up with a clever alternative. You can now access the "16/32-bit Computer Board" through the Support Area. Just type "go atari16" and you'll be there! There are many NEW online magazines being posted. There is also some information on the Summer CES at Chicago. There has also been several reviews uploaded within the last month. - EVENTS! - Upcoming Events --------------- (if you go, take notes and report what went on!)
