I have recently written a output driver (pseudo) for disspla which generates troff move and linedraw commands. It seems to work well, however the use of any but the simplest character sets, generates rather large files of troff code. This is especially true if fille characters are used. To avoid this, and to make the fonts the same as the typeset material in which the graph will be imbedded, I am attempting to implement hardware characters. This does not seem as easy considering the proportional fonts which are used by troff. Has anyone out there done this already? Can anyone give me any tips on writing output drivers for disspla which make use of hardware characters? I would really appretiate the help and would glady exchange the portions of the driver which are not ISSCO proprietary information. Please respond via E-mail. PAul Disspla is a trade mark of ISSCO.
