several folks sent mail, so rather than wait for it to appear on the
net, i ftp'd it to a.a. only i am not sure how to notify the maintainer
(i know, RTFM) so consider this the notification as well. i did basically
cd new
binary
mput mgif35*.arc (no LZH for me, thanx :-)
files are mgif35s.arc (source, about 100k) and mgif35b.arc (bin, about 75k).
anyway, if this worked, it should be avail in a day or 2.
mgif is a gif viewer for monochrome. this version also does flicker mode
displays for like 8+ levels of grayscale. i say 8+ because the images
in each screen are also F-S dithered, so it "looks" like more. anyway,
i think images look good. i'd rather program useful stuff than dick
around with lharc formats anyday :-) (sublim advert).
this version also adds tons of imag proc funtions, too. u can save the
flicker screens and view them. u can also view .PI1 and .PI2 images. src
has relatively easy hooks for other formats (like spectrum). ONLY WORKS
FOR MONOCHROME. you also will need 1.5 MB of free ram for the executable
posted. else recompile yerself (src is there, too). sorry, i don't trust
Malloc so i static alloc big stuff like this.
and most importantly, it is in good 'ol american .ARC format, so ANYBODY
should be able to read it :-). well, u will need arc 5.21 or later, which
has been around for at least 3-4 years. sorry. and no flames on this, i
have smileys in key places, like now: :-)...
