Hello, A friend of a friend has a ICD Multi I/O for sale. It seems to take input from a 50 pin connector (output from a host adapter maybe?), and offers several I/O ports, including one labeled video! ANYWAY, he thinks it was used on a ST, but someone else that I described this to, says it's used with the 8 bit systems. He want to sell it, but I don't know if I can use it or not... Does anyone out there have any information on this beast? ANY/ALL help/info is mucho appreciado! _John_

It provides a SCSI/SASI host adapter (for connecting hard drives to the Atari 8-Bits), a parallel printer port, a RS232 serial port and either 256k or 1m of RAM that can be configured as either a RAMdisk and/or a print buffer/spooler. The video actually does not work, it was intended as a future 80 column RGB upgrade, ICD canned the upgrade. The MIO is strictly for either the 800XL or the 130XE, a ST user has no use for it; unless of course you decide to an 8-Bit! The MIO is a handy piece of hardware, a must for anyone who wants to run an 8-Bit BBS. A used 256k unit is worth around $100, a used 1m unit is worth around $250. ICD still (for the moment at least!) sells them. Bye................... Luis
