[comp.sys.atari.st] Atari-Amiga wars

revpk@cellar.UUCP (Brian 'Rev P-K' Siano) (07/01/91)

Someone above posted abouthow tired they are of Amiga users coming to
this newsgroup to crow about their machines.

I agree-- there's no need for this at all. I don't know how often
Amiga users go onto Mac or IBM newsgroups, and crow over there, but I'd guess
it's a LOT less. (Maybe it's just harder to defend the Amiga against the two
industry leaders.)

But I'm not aware of too many Atari ST users going onto the Amiga
echoes and disrupting their discussions. Maybe I'm wrogn about this-- I
haven't checked out the Amiga sections-- but I'd be genuinely surprised
should such things happen with as much frequency as they do here.

So, here's a proposed remedy; if anyone wants to, they should take
the my-Amiga-kicks-ass posts, and re-post them on the Amiga newsgroups with
the following note attached:

"Until the Amiga user who wrote this message learns some common
courtesy, his obnoxiousness should be shared among all. If you don't want
these messages on your newsgroup, then kindly tell him to stop."

It's not the nicest thing to do, I admit.
