No, you can't plug more than one external 3-1/2" floppy into the Amiga without having another source of power than the Amiga itself. You can build yourself a power supply fairly cheaply (< $50 for something robust -- maybe less than $5 if you look in the right place). A while back Radio Shack was selling power supplies which I believe were surplus supplies for Coleco "Adam" computers (?) which I think had enough capacity to power one drive. These were three or four dollars apiece. You just need to hack a connector to go from the output of the first drive (the one connected to the Amiga) to the input of the second drive -- this connector just needs to pass all the regular signals and insert power on a line (or a couple, I don't remember offhand). The A1010 doesn't feed power back out on the connector on the back; it's trivial to add these lines. Check your documentation.... Alternatively, you can pay someone else to build it for you --- if you can't find someone and want to purchase a supply, send me mail -- a friend of mine is making supplies for just this purpose (I often run with two or three external drives). I won't say anything more about this here though since I don't want to get too commercial on the net. --- Mark --- ...decvax!mcnc!ece-csc!mark
