ASDG has just gone to layout (and is now accepting orders for) an 8Mbyte zorro card having all the same performance attributes of our 2Mbyte board. One of the board's unusual features is its handling of 6Mbyte conf- igurations. By looking at the Amiga hardware manual, one finds that there is no intrinsic support for 6Mbyte memory boards (it goes ..1,2,4,8 mbytes). Considering that many people who might purchase this board might already have 2Mbytes in their system, we have chosen to add extra circuitry which will allow such people the opportunity to use both their boards if they wish to. Our 8M detects the presence of 6Mbytes worth of memory and automat- ically presents two sets of config spaces to the Amiga during autoconfig. In essence if you have 6Mbytes populated on the board, the Amiga believes you have one 4Mbyte board and one 2Mbyte board. Our Recoverable Ram Disk (TM) will use all 8Mbytes if you desire it (and have 8Mbytes). This board would make a great addition to a turbo amiga (TM). The board uses 1Mbit x 1 dip drams. Sixteen per two megabytes. The board will support 2, 4, 6, or 8Mbytes. We project the following pricing: 8M/2 - Socketed for 8Mbytes but carrying 2Mbytes - $899. 8M/4 - Socketed for 8Mbytes but carrying 4Mbytes - $1349. 8M/6 - Socketed for 8Mbytes but carrying 6Mbytes - $1799. 8M/8 - Socketed for 8Mbytes and carrying 8Mbytes - $2199. To make room for this product in our pricing structure we are making the following change effective February 1st: 2M - 2Mbyte zorro memory board - $599. The .5M and 1M will no longer be available. There's no change to policy regarding the Mini-Rack-C or D.
