[comp.sys.amiga] ARC and uuencode/decode

cmcmanis@sun.uucp (Chuck McManis) (01/12/87)

For what it is worth, if you send Arc files that have been uuencoded over
the net you are essentially sending binary files and they should more
appropriately be sent to mod.amiga.binaries (or whatever it is called).

I have yet to find a working version of Arc for UNIX, which is required
if I want to look at the sources before I bother downloading them.
Additionally, many people who read this group do not own Amigas and
thus can never look at the source even if they wanted to. So here at
least is one vote for *NOT* arc'ing anything. If I had my druthers I
would want everything to be sharfiles or concatenated sources.
