I recently bought an Amiga. Wonderful machine! Last night I went out and got Marble Madness for it...superb game! It would be even better if it would work right. It seems that when I get to the 3rd level at the point where the waves start appearing, the screen starts to flicker. The flickering gets steadily worse until the program dies (if i don't die first). I've tried running it on the (supposedly) identical Amiga at work, and there are no problems. I've also tried a different copy of the program with no success, and my local dealer also has no idea of what the problem could be. According to them, I should have all the latest firmware. To add to the mystery, if I boot with my regular workbench disk and then try running the game, which the instructions say not to do, the graphics work fine & nothing crashes, but there is no sound!! Needless to say, I'm thoroughly confused about this. Can any meditating gurus out there help me? anyone else seen this happen? Thanx... -Chuck Kesler chuck@ncsuvm.BITNET P.S.-- BTW, I have 512K and use KickStart 1.2, and the KickStart at work is a copy of the one I have at home.

Run a program like AVAIL to see how much memory you really have. Could be bad ram somewhere. Saw a problem like this before, a prototype 256k ram board that was not shielded caused a similar problem when its memory was accessed... If its brand new then take it back and exchange it! Don't wait- Good luck. John 7OHN
