The Amiga's excellent graphics and video makes for far more than
games. My wife and I use the Amiga to produce commercial
animations. Clients use them for in-house training videos and point
of sale presentations. And we've just gotten started.
The Amiga puts out the best NTSC signal of any low-end computer
(most don't even put out an NTSC signal). This means the Amiga
can directly feed professional video editing/post-processing
equipment.
As for hi-res flicker, well, that's part of the price of NTSC
compatibility. We'll live with it until we can afford a
long-persistance monitor.
