Question. I just looked at the Epson Laser printer. Nice machine. I did a "dir > par: opt a" and out came the listing. But! I couldn't get PRT: to work with it... I had the driver set to Epson. What am I doing wrong? No, now I know that "Epson" means MX-RX-FX, but still, what do other Epson users use? I have heard about an LQ-800 driver. What does that do? Does it draw in more pixels than are on the screen? My mom has the Epson QX-16 computer and the LQ-1500 and when it does graphics the resolution goes down to nine pin. Is that what happens on the Amiga? Or does the driver say "Well, there is a pixel here and a pixel here, I'll put one here to." And is it the same for the laser printer? That has to be 300 dpi. Then comes the question of the NEC 24 pin printer that has twice the resolution of the laser printer (this is hearsay). Do we have a driver for that? and does it increase the resolution even more? I guess what I am saying is: How do we find out more about printer drivers? I have all the manuals, but tend to bypass the RKM because they give a sample driver, and I don't want to write one, I just want to know what they do... I still don't get this aspect ratio that is set by setting the prt: margins. Page Setter almost killed me with it's "printer preferences are set wrong". I didn't know how to fix it, cause I didn't really know what they did. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Randy Spencer P.O.
