If this is a duplicate, I apologize - our poster was broken. First, the reason for my later question: I've ported a compiler of mine to the Amiga, and have been industriously converting the include files (Gamma 1) to my language (Draco). I've got a fast screen editor, some utilities, and a bunch of sample programs, all set up on a couple of disks. My current plan is to send a copy to Fred Fish in the hopes that he'll deem it an appropriate thing to add to the "Fish Disks". Of course, in order to be maximally useful, I need to include fairly complete include files in the distribution. I've rewritten/translated most of the C ones, and have been stripping all of the comments out so that they don't take up so much space. This leads to my question (directed mostly to any Commodore folks listening in): Do I need any special permission (written or otherwise) to proceed with this kind of distribution of include files derived indirectly from the copyrighted developer include files? If so, who should I ask for it? Assuming I don't get waylaid on some other project (like porting my graphics D & D system before finishing the compiler stuff), I plan on having the distribution ready to go in a month or so. I've given out two copies to local people to try out, but those aren't quite complete. I recall seeing an article a couple of months ago that mentioned the C include files being made public domain. Has that happened? Chris Gray {ubc-vision,sask,ihnp4}!alberta!myrias!cg
