Could somebody please let me know if there exists an APL for the amiga?

Yes, there is an APL for the Amiga.  It is called "APL.68000".  I think
the price is about US $300 or Pounds Sterling 200.

I have not used this product on the Amiga, but I have used it on the
Pixel and on the Atari ST.  I like it.  It comes with graphics
interface, terminal emulator (Amiga and Mac versions), an APL component
file system, access to "native" files, and lots of other goodies.
