I ran into the same problem with Online (version 1.27) with workbench/kickstart 1.2. VT100 and VT102 modes have a lot of keys that generate 4's and u's. I was able to make Online! work by setting keymap USA0 before running it. The 1.2 AmigaDOS documentation states that USA0 is the old 1.1 keymap, and that some products may require it to run. For some reason, TTY mode and ANSI don't have this problem in Online! Online requires the default 1.1 keymap which is different from the default 1.2 keymap (for compatibility with foreign keymaps). So, if you want to use Online under 1.2, you must use the 1.2 SETMAP command to change to the usa0 (default 1.1) keymap.
