[comp.sys.amiga] Clipboard Questions

hadeishi@husc4.UUCP (02/09/87)

Could someone at C-A kindly post a brief explanation of
how to use the clipboard.device properly? I.e., explanations of
CLIP_ID, how it is incremented, etc. What is the Post function,
and what is its relationship to the Write function, etc.

	Thanx in advance.

See the Addison/Wesley "Libraries and Devices" Rom Kernel manual.
(chapter on clipboard.device). You'll also need IFF specs to do
it right. The book contains a fairly thorough explanation of the
clipboard and some utility routines for posting, etc.

But although the docs say that all data written to the clipboard
should be in IFF format, I think the example code only shows how to
write IFF text to the clipboard. If you're planning to clip something
else (like graphics), you'll need the IFF docs and routines to help
you.

Sorry to bring this up if it is already answered before,
but where would I be able to get iff docs (especially SMUS)?

The following items may be ordered for $20 each from Commodore.
(make checks payable to Commodore Business Machines)

1. IFF Docs and Disk
IFF source and document. Includes specs for SMUS and 8SVX.
Note that .h files for SMUS and 8SVX were not available when this
package was put together. You can get these headers and an updated
ILBM viewer that handles HAM on Fish Disk 44. I will incorporate
them in our stuff next time I release the IFF disk.

2. A1000 Schematics and Expansion Specs

3. 1.2 Native Developer Update
   Four disks:
      1.2 Includes, Amiga.lib, Alink, fd's
      1.2 Stripped Includes
      Autodocs
Readmes, function offset lists, new Astartup

Include your name and address and specify which item(s) you are ordering.

Send order to:
