I just found the follwing info on my tour of our local fido board:
It is rumored that the new Atari PC clones don't exist. This
information originally appeared on compuserve. Apparently (remember,
this is ONLY a rumor) Atari showed a PC clone at CES to steal the
thunder of Commodore's introduction of the PC-10, but don't intend to
actually produce one.
To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.
Tramiel has a habit of making wild product announcements to stave off
his competitors, only to deliver the actual product much, much later.
Remember the blitter chip for the ST's that atari announced a year ago?
(I remember reading the byte article talking about it this time last
year) They haven't seen it yet (though atari is talking april for a
delivery date.) Same story for the Amy sound chip.

Nasty, Nasty . . . I just read in Computer Shopper the review of the
Atari-PC clone and while I personally detest IBM's of all ilks, it sounded
like a decent clone.

The above opinions could probably be proven incoherent in a court of law.
