OK... This is a thing that has been bothering me for the last few days. The way I see it, there are two ways I can upgrade my Amiga 1000. 1) Sell it and buy a 2000. Now, this means that I get 512k more, 5 Amiga slots, 3-5(I forget the exact number) IBM slots, a slot for a 68020 co-processor, and that's about it. 2) Buy a box with slots for my 1000(ie, byte by byte or ASDG or whomever else produces them). This gives me x number of slots with maybe more memory/hard drive/battery backed clock pagaged with it for unknown prices(> $1000?). I'm not interested in IBM compatibility or the IBM slots, but I am interested in a hard drive and maybe more memory. I have a hard drive already, but it might or might not be able to work with any Amiga system(its a First Class Perepherals Sider hard drive from my Apple ][ days (Xebec manufactured the drive itself for FCP)). My question is which would be better/cheaper for me. Sell my 1000 or keep it and buy a box? I would rather stick with it, but if the price difference is significant, I would rather save the money. Also, with the advent of the 2000, would the 1000 expansion boxes out now drop in price?(If I get a box, I would like it to be compatible with the 2000 zorro standard(not necessary if the other physical standard does not die out)) Thanx for any answers on the net or in the mail. Wonko the Sane (you call this SANE??) Disclaimer: I am totally irresponsible. So shoot me then.
