Hold on to those A1000's! I just received a brochure from Computer Systems Associates, it reads something like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- New TURBO TOWER Improves Amiga Performance We've redesigned our turbo chassis into a new and improved Turbo Tower to keep pace with the changes in industry. Four enhancements have been added to provide you with improved Performance from CSA's 68020/68881 award winning CPU board. * Expanded chassis to accommodate Amiga and IBM compatible flex form cards. * Local area network interface with other Amigas and workstations. * Turbo Tower design provides flexible and convenient workstation compatibility. * CSA boards also fit the new Amiga 2000. Designed to meet the changing features of the Amiga and now with IBM compatibility. "Put a Turbo on the Porche of Personal Computers" Starting from $3870.00 (domestic price) options available CSA Computer Systems Associates - 7564 Trade Street, SanDiego, CA 92121 (619) 566-3911 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was a little confused as to what the box actually did, like is it an A2000 for the A1000, is that price with or without and Amiga etc. I called CSA and received the following additional information: * Yes, this does give you "complete" A2000 compatibility, you will even be able to plug in the bridge card! * The expansion box is $1095 when purchased separately. * They have and 68020/68881 card that fits both this and the A2000 for $1480. * They have a DMA SCSI controller for $745, and a SCSI drive for $945. * The networking they mention in the brochure is via the Ameristar ethernet card that has been mentioned on the net before. * The system will be available early April. And just think, you can still have the slot under the computer to stick the keyboard in! -- Rich Miner ULowell-Cntr for Productivity !ulowell!miner 617-452-5000x2693
