The biggest reason is the availability of a wide variety of low-cost PC
peripherals! For the difference between the cost of a hard disk for the
Amiga and a hard disk for the PC, you can have the bridge card free!!
Do you want an array processor for your Amiga? Fat chance! But Sky
Computers (among others) makes array processors for the PC -- and you
can plug one into the PC slots on your A2000. Many more examples
could be cited.

The PC slots in the A2000 are additional evidence that the people at
Commodore/Amiga understand their market -- they have NO delusions of
grandeur! Commodore/Amiga understands that there is a market for a
computer that is radically different than the PC (140,000 sold isn't
gangbusters, but it's not bad). At the same time, they recognize that
the PC is and will continue to be the big seller, attracting developers
the way spoiled fruit attracts flies.

In the final analysis, the choice Commodore/Amiga has made is best for
itself *and* for those of us who are loyal A1000 owners. Commodore/Amiga
has provided a compatible upgrade path that will give us the option of
buying low-cost peripherals and high-performance options. Those who
choose not to upgrade will still be supported, because of the software
commonality.

Thanks, Commodore/Amiga!!
