[comp.sys.amiga] Warning: StarFlite

joels@tekred.TEK.COM (Joel Swank) (03/19/87)

This is a warning about another crooked dealer - StarFlite Telemarketing.
In December I ordered a product from them. They promised shiping within a
week. After two weeks I called to find out I was on backorder, but it would
be shipped in another week. After two weeks I called to find that it woud
be shipped 'next tuesday'. About this time my Mastercard bill came and
I paid it. After another two weeks I called and it was again being shipped
'next tuesday'. Another two weeks, I called and got another 'next tuesday'.
Another two weeks I called and was told my order was 'lost on the wrong file'.
About a week later I got a package from them. It was the wrong product.
Then I got my Mastercard bill and they had charged me AGAIN. I am writing
MC to refuse payment for this charge and instruct them to accept no more
charges from StarFlight. You have to be carefull about giving your credit
card numbers to crooks over the phone. I've had problems with unauthorized
charges before. (Once Wayne Green's bunch got my credit card number and
generated subscriptions to all his rags and charged them to my credit card.
I won that one though. I got all my money back plus the cost of one sub.)
I have little hope of ever getting the correct product, they don't
cary it, never did. I would recomend not dealing with these people.
If someone does rip you off, fight back. You won't always win, sometimes
you will.
