[comp.sys.amiga] File is not an object module

richc@madvax.UUCP (03/25/87)

I'm an AMIGA owner with a XEBEC 20M harddisk and a 2 Meg Starboard 2.
I'm attempting to download the uuencoded program HIDE to use with programs
that don't work with extended memory (DPSLIDE, SLIDESHOW, DIRUTILITY I,
TEXTCRAFT etc.). I've downloaded the program and run it through uudecode
to produce an object module and even ran it through FIXOBJECT to remove
any extra zeros at the end of the file. When I attempt to run the program,
AMIGADOS returns with an error of ...Unable to load HIDE: file is not an
object module. When I type the object module with opt h I get the following:

		Start: 000003f3 ........ ........ <--- Header (I think)
			  ........ ........ ........
			  000003e9 00000073 23c00000 <--- Start of code
			  ........ ........ ........
			  00000000 000003f2 000003ea
			  00000000 000003f2 <--- End of file

I know AMIGADOS does not like trailing zeros on an object module and does
some checking of the file before running it, but this looks like a good
object file to me. Where have I gone wrong? I've even tried to uuencode
the module and compare it to the original and everything looked OK. Any
comments, help or suggestions would be appreciated.
