I am inquiring to see if anyone knows or is working on a TeX DVI to HP Laserjet+ filter for VMS (and possibly Ultrix). I will shortly embark on the effort to convert an existing one over or write one if all else fails, but wanted to check out there to see if anyone had heard of one under development... Any pointers also would be appreciated... NOTES: Recently a DVI2LJ.WEB program was posted in net.sources that runs only on HP under RTE... That seems like the easiest port though it will need some massaging since VMS pascal doesn't handle such things as "seek" in a straight forward manner... Looking at DVI2LNG.WEB supplied some hints though not much... The existing DVI2LN3.C file distributed by Stanford may be salvagable but the effort to change LN03 font loading to HPlaserjet font loading might make this not so good a candidate... It does, however, handle all the file stuff... it's just a matter of changing font prologues and font id assignments... The final option is writing one from scratch probably using a mixture of DVItype, DVI2LNG and DVI2LJ. This will probably take longer than the above... Would appreciate all responses... Will repost if anyone has anything exciting... thanks... ramin =--------------------------------------=-------------------------------------= : alias: ramin firoozye' : USps: Systems Control Inc. : : uucp: ...!shasta \ : 1801 Page Mill Road : : ...!lll-lcc \ : Palo Alto, CA 94303 : : ...!ihnp4 \...!ramin@rtgvax : ^G: (415) 494-1165 x-1777 : =--------------------------------------=-------------------------------------= -- =--------------------------------------=-------------------------------------= : alias: ramin firoozye' : USps: Systems Control Inc. : : uucp: ...!shasta \ : 1801 Page Mill Road : : ...!lll-lcc \ : Palo Alto, CA 94303 : : ...!ihnp4 \...!ramin@rtgvax : ^G: (415) 494-1165 x-1777 : =--------------------------------------=-------------------------------------=
