[comp.sys.amiga] PD Music Player?

jimh@hpsadla.HP (Jim Horn) (03/18/87)

Hi folks -

Does anyone know of a program to play music on the Amiga that will
read the SMUS IFF and DMCS formatted files - without having to have the
capability of DMCS? Another Amiga owner here asked, and I know of none.
But for the many folks doing music with DMCS, Music Studio, and others,
such a program would result in a much wider audience if it were available
at a low or zero fee.

Yes, I know of MusiCraft Version 0.99 ("Not for distribution"), which
I understand is incompatible with KickStart 1.2 (which will soon go into
EPROM here). Any other ideas?

     Many thanks -

   Fish disk #58 contains a SMUS player. I don't think you'll find a
DMCS format player unless the author writes one. You'll have to be
content with saving your DMCS files in SMUS format (I believe this is
a DMCS option) and playing them with a SMUS player.

Fish #58 appears to contain the executables only to SMUS players.
If the author(s) of either of those beasts is one the net, would
you please consider posting the source, for those of us poor sods
who would like to have our own programs playing music?

I, for one, would be forever grateful.

Thankee,
