[...for all you do ... this line's for you ...] (Stole that great line from kim @ amdhal) Does anybody know the details of the KickStart disk. I've not had a lot of success in disecting it. The guy who produced KickBench must have some idea, but I don't think he is on the net. Basically, I'm trying to learn the details of how the Amiga boots. I've learned a few details from the manuals and made some guesses which appear to be true. One interesting thing: AmigaDOS seems to be started up by the code which is placed on a WorkBench disk by the Install command. It does an OpenLibrary of dos.library which appears to be the critical thing that code does. If you wanted to put your own DOS onto your WorkBench disk, you'd probably want to set up a fancy boot strap in that boot block. I would guess that some of the non-multitasking games take over the machine in just this fashion. So, has anybody learned more of these details? James Synge.
