Against my intuition, I went out to Federated and bought
a copy of Portal (from Activision). Here is a short and
biased review:
Copy protected? Yes (I did not discern this from the
jacket). The instructions warn that copying it can
destroy the program. Style? I would call it CAR
(computer aided reading). One uses the mouse to step
through a SciFi story. The pace is slow, as there are
way too many disk accesses. Objectives? Not sure it
really has one, except to uncover the story. Replay
Value? Not high (which is why I am reselling it) Misc:
Nice selection of colors in otherwise simple graphics.
Storyline is moderate, if rambling. Who would buy it:
Sci-Fi lovers who want to try something different.
Action lovers stay away from it; adventurers probably
find it boring
