[comp.sys.amiga] vt100 2.6 bug

ain@s.cc.purdue.edu (Patrick White) (04/26/87)

I just found a bug in vt100 version 2.6. my current settings are:

      9600 baud
      even parity
      wrap on <-- the problem
      the rest are at default

It seems that whenever the last line is longer than the screen width and
automatically wraps, the emulator looses track of when to scroll the screen.
The result of this bug is that the text continues below the last line and
goes down to the bottom of the Amiga screen where is gets stuck and dosen't
scroll. (equality tests are great :-)
The bug can be easily repeated by creating a line about 240 characters long
so it wraps on the screen. Then go to the bottom of the screen (so it
scrolls if you try to go down any further) and cat the file. Because of the
wrap, it will go beyond the last line of the screen and the emulator will
*not* scroll anymore. Further output will continue to the bottom of the
Amiga screen and then get stuck at the bottom of the Amiga screen.

I am running the emulator in a second CLI window via the RUN command,
on an Amiga with 512k and workbench/kickstart 1.2 (kickstart in ram). I
am invoking it from a shell gotten from the amiga.archives on
j.cc.purdue.edu, and got the copy of vt100 from doc himself.
