Leo, et al.... Leo, great idea. Matter of fact, someone at CBM/Amiga was thinking the way you do...really! If you look at a Workbench disk thru the CLI, you'll see a file there called .info. THis file contains the names of files that have icons attached to them in the current directory. It's just not used by the Workbench (or so it seems anyway...*Sigh*.) John What, ME work?
