I turned on the "active" windows feature in Echs (usually spelled X).
Gee, there's no name on the icon. No way to tell which is the violet
window, and which is the eris window, and which is the jasper window.
So much for that....

As for gadgtes, these things run under Echs. We don't want no wimpy
gadgets, boy! You've got to be a man, and remember which of the 7
control-meta-shift bucky combinations (always gotta have ONE of them
on, otherwise your applications can't get non-bucky mouse clicks) on
which of the three mouse buttons iconifies, deiconifies, moves,
resizes, raises, and lowers. Either that, or find it in the menu
somewhere.

Sunstools isn't much better. They at least have one gadget (the>
border, which sorta-kinda works as a drag bar, plus other things with
bucky keys down) and lets you use function keys for some things.

In short, I'd kill for an intuition-like interface (except gimme
autopoint/sunmouse and pop-up menus!) on my Sun. Or even something
nearly as friendly as intuition, as opposed to the slow-and-unfriendly
Sunstools or fast-but-hostile Echs. Maybe NeWS....
