>The posting by Bryce simply said that some one was working on something,
>BUT DON'T ASK ME ABOUT IT ! My response is :: is it only a software
>package or a combination of SW and HW ? What will this phantom pkg
>sell for if it ever reaches the stores?

What was said was a techical comment, not a product brochure. It had
been debated if it IMPOSSIBLE or not. The message boils down to rumor
that it has been done.
I did NOT say "DON'T ASK ME ABOUT IT!" I said "DON'T ASK THEM ABOUT IT".
While they can reliably read all tracks of a Mac disk, that is still a
way from a product. The product WILL be:

According to Central Coast:

1> All software.
2> Should be out in 3-4 months. It will be announced when available.

Reasons I beleive them:

1> The guy I talked to was compentent.
2> They have two other products -> dos-2-dos and disk-2-disk. The second
which reads the 1541/1571 is also IMPOSSIBLE for the same reason as the
   Mac, varriable bit density.

Price for disk-2-disk is $49.95. Take a guess at the Mac price from that.

The person I talked gave permission to mention the acomplishments, but asked
that people be encouraged not to call until the product is ready. They do
not need to spend money saying "That's not available yet" to 5000 people.

>I'll believe it when I can see it running on MY A1000 at home !
>Vaporware forever!

Wait 3-4 months, call Central Coast in Los Osos, Ca. Flame again if needed.
 Else buy it.
